About Tony

BBus, Grad Cert (Research), MBA, CA, PhD, CA Business Valuation Specialist. Over 30 years in professional services, 20 of them in regional Australia.

Dr Tony Irish

Tony Irish has spent more than 30 years in professional services, over 20 of them based in regional Victoria. His valuation practice reflects that experience: regional and rural operating businesses, professional-services firms, and the family, succession and transaction decisions that turn on getting a defensible number.

His doctoral research at the University of Tasmania examined how knowledge-intensive service firms grow and support innovation in regional economies, the same economies his valuation clients operate in. He later completed the Professional Service Firm Strategy and Leadership Program at Cambridge Judge Business School. The full list of qualifications is below.

Every Valuación engagement is prepared under APES 225 Valuation Services, the professional standard set by the Accounting Professional and Ethical Standards Board that governs all valuation work by Chartered Accountants in Australia. The three engagement tiers offered (Review, Service and Engagement) align with the three levels of engagement defined in APES 225, so the scope of work always matches what the valuation will be used for. Projects are not over- or under-scoped.

Tony has completed valuation, economic and advisory work across regional Victoria, the Northern Territory, South Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania. He has extensive economic analysis experience, having worked across Australia in this field. That footprint is what allows a Valuación report to reason about the town, industry, economy and transaction as connected variables rather than one number treated in isolation.
